Old Gonzales County Jail
Built in 1885-1887. The last hanging took place on March 18,1921.
A legend persist that while Albert Howard was in jail, he paid strict attention to the
clock on the courthouse to keep up with the hours he had to live. He swore that his
innocence would be shown by the clock and that none of the four faces would ever keep the
same time.
